Phew, what a year it has been! We launched Fair Bingo, gave away more cars than we can count, had a £1 million scratch card winner, and rubbed shoulders with a host of celebs. We’ve barely stopped to catch a breath, so now that 2021 is upon us, let’s take a moment to reflect on this blinder of a year…
OJO’s Year in Brief
January – We got the year off to a cracking start with the mahoosive £1.5 million prize pool that was up for grabs in this unique one-off promo. It was all very exciting stuff – we gave away £250k every month for 6 months and then there were 50 Daily Drop Cash Prizes worth over £4.5k which randomly dropped when you were playing on a qualifying game. Nail-biting stuff it was.
February – It was veerrrry chilly outside. This made us wonder about how past holiday plans (oh, those were the days) might have been ruined by terrible weather and so we asked you to share your stories on our social channels. Being the fair bunch that we are, we balanced things out a little by treating the best (or rather worst) failed holiday story to a holiday worth over £1,000. A lot can happen in a year, alright.
March – It was happy birthday to OJO! We went large with our 3rd birthday celebrations by throwing a kick-ass house party at OJO’s gaff where a humungous £20k worth of prizes were won in our birthday spinoff and Daily Party Missions. Prizes included an IKEA Home Makeover, a Hot Tub Party for 3 nights, a Sony 5.1 Blue-ray Home Cinema, plus loads more prizes to get the neighbours talking.
And coz our OJOers love a good Reel Spinoff, March also saw us launch the ‘Hot to Trot Prizes’ Spinoff, where we gave away the double-whopper 1st prize of a MacBook Pro 13″ + iPad Pro 12.9″!
April saw the launch of OJO’s ‘Catch a Car’ Spinoff where it was a race to the top of the spinoff leaderboard to win a spanking new Audi A1. There was only one winner in this month-long spinoff and coz it was so much fun the first time, we decided to make a regular thing of it and rolled it out again and again. Jo Jenkins from Birmingham was just one of our lucky ‘Catch a Car’ winners this year, and who knows when OJO will fancy handing out yet another shiny new car.
May – If OJO’s 2020 rewards didn’t already have you on the edge of your seats, we went and ramped things up a notch with a new Daily Jackpot feature on Red Tiger’s Must Drop Jackpot Games. Adding to the existing Random Jackpots, this now presented a new chance to win 1 of 2 jackpots at any given time! Can you give me a woot woot!
June – Things were sizzling up in June as we saw the launch of our brand-new online scratchcard games. With cards from just 1p a scratch, OJO’s new instant win games gave a whole new meaning to quick cheap fun. And with as much as £1 million to be scratched away, you guys were itching for a scratch!
And it didn’t take long for us to announce our very first £1 million scratch card winner either! Just 4 days after our instant win scratchcards were launched, a very lucky OJOer from Blackpool tried her luck on the new Wolf Gold 1,000,000 Scratch card game… and won exactly £1,000,000! She could hardy Adam and Eve it.
July – As our summer tans deepened, so did the win pool. We’d been celebrating some record wins lately, so we wanted to announce them to the world! Of course, we celebrated our first ever £1 million scratchcard winner, and then there was Unbguy25 who won £79,661.77, Pammi222 who won £60,244.97 and Chrisdavis1 who won £31,500, to name but a few. And there were certainly more where that come from!
August – We launched Fair Bingo! Yep, we took bingo by the balls and made it fairer in every way, with equal-chance games, Free Tickets, perks, and everything we’ve always loved about bingo. Dabbin’ eck, it was time to go to the ball!
Then there was this. 4 weeks, 4 spinoffs, and 12 of the hottest electric scooters money could buy, including the likes of a Piaggio Vespa Elettrica. That’s what our summer ‘Scooter Booster’ Spinoff was all about. You had 4 weeks to score a scooter and the top positions on that leader board made sparks fly on the way to those scootin’ beauties.
And let’s not forget how we stood up for all the poor Karen’s out there. Considering all the negative stigma that came with the name, we decided to give £14 to all the real life Karens – weellll, we thought they might need a little pick-me-up.
September was a month to remember! We hosted the bingo event of THE century to celebrate the launch of our new Fair Bingo site. Our unforgettable Drive-In Bingo party was hosted by the one and only Gemma Collins, and the entertainment didn’t stop there. Nineties heart-throbs East 17 serenaded us with some nostalgic hits and the nations favourite personal trainer, Mr Motivator really got our heartrates going with a bespoke in-car body workout. Oh, what a night it was!
October – Blackjack fans, your prayers were indeed answered! October was when we launched the very first in our series of free comprehensive games guides with OJO’s Guide to Blackjack. We left no stone unturned in uncovering all the skills, tips and clues that you could possibly need to give you the real edge in Blackjack. It’s the only Blackjack Guide you’ll ever need.
November was quite the star-studded affair! We started off with an exclusive interview with Liverpool & England legend John Barnes. Having racked up 201 Premier League games without a single booking, he’s out kinda fair fella. Read the full interview here.
Just days later, we teamed up with Gemma Collins once again. This time it was to launch a faux fragrance which highlighted that problem gambling is the ‘addiction with no smell’. This coincided with Safer Gambling Week 2020, the perfect opportunity for raising awareness.
Then it was time to spin for a MINI Cooper in our winter edition of the ever-popular Spin-A-Mini spinoff. This winter it was 5 weeks, 5 MINI Coopers and £20k worth of weekly prizes, including an iMac 27‑inch and an iPhone 12 Pro.
But that wasn’t the end to November’s offerings.
