Say hello to Riku!

Yep, you heard us right – we’ve got a Parrot Predictor! Riku belongs to Alex from our social media team and he’s our unofficial office mascot who often pops in for a flying visit. The whole team at OJO knows that he loves having a chat and showing off his tricks, but he’s been keeping his hidden football knowledge a secret.

But with our Summer of Sport promotion ready to launch, Riku has finally decided to show off his love of the game by predicting the winner of some of the tournament’s biggest matches. Will he be right? Or is Riku just talking nonsense? There’s only one way to find out!

Riku backs England 

While Riku may be an African grey parrot, he showed loyalty to his home country by picking England to win their opening match against Serbia. Thankfully, he was right as the Three Lions went top of their group with a 1-0 victory. 

Two on the trot for Riku! 

After correctly guessing that England would be Serbia, Riku made it two correct answers in a row. He predicted that Spain would start with a victory against Croatia, and they didn’t disappoint as they won 3-0. 

England stay unbeaten

Riku stayed loyal in England’s second game, although he seemed a bit less confident! Our mascot chose the Three Lions initially although he ended up knocking over both flags – we took this to mean that he’s leaning towards a draw, but he fancies England to top the group. 

Spain at the double!

After backing Spain to beat Croatia in their first game, Riku fancied them to continue their form against Italy. And he got it spot on as they won 1-0!

You can’t get them all right…

Spain beat Albania in their final game to win the group – sadly for Riku, he went for the Albanians, who finished bottom.

England let Riku down

Our cheeky parrot has got football fever and he was confident that England would win again in their last group game against Slovenia. But it wasn’t to be as the match finished 0-0.

Viva Espana!

There was no messing around when Riku predicted Spain to beat Germany in the quarter-final.

Penalty redemption

After losing the final on penalties three years ago, England bounced back to knock out Switzerland in their quarter-final shootout – and Riku got his prediction spot on!

French failure

After they reached the World Cup final in 2022, Riku backed France to get there again. But Spain had other ideas in the semis…
